The Jury Meet for the second edition of the Hotelier India Awards was an exciting day for all, as the jurors narrowed down 243 nominations to 14 winners and runners up.
The jury meet for the Hotelier India Awards was an intense day-long experience on Monday, 22 November, 2010 at the JW Marriott, Mumbai with our reputed panel of judges discussing the merits of over 243 nominations across 14 categories, to narrow it down to one winner and one runner-up per category.
After much deliberation, the jury decide on the shortlisted nominations according to merit and common consent, with the common factor for all those shortlisted being ‘excellence’, which is the theme for the Hotelier India Awards this year.
During the course of the day, the judges chose to look at not just how the nominees have already helped shape or improve Indian hospitality locally and on the world market, but also for the potential they have to inspire today’s up-and-coming hoteliers.
Our jury panel included the following stalwarts from the hospitality industry: Leela president Rajiv Kaul, JW Marriott vice president India, Malaysia, Maldives and Pakistan Rajeev Menon, Oberoi senior vice president Kapil Chopra, ITC chief operating officer Dipak Haksar, HVS India managing director Manav Thadani, Horwath’s Vijay Thacker and Sarovar president Anil Madhok.
The Hotelier India Awards ceremony, which will be held at The Westin, Gurgaon, on 16 December, 2010 will be an evening to remember, where the hospitality industry’s who’s who are expected to attend. Do look out for the coverage in our January edition.
