HVS announces ‘Hotels of the Year’ finalists

HVS has announced the final contenders for the ‘Hotels of the Year Awards’ at HICSA 2010 on April 7-8, 2010. 39 Hotels across four categories were nominated for the awards. This list of finalists was derived from a detailed point based analysis of each hotel’s ranking across various criteria. A six judge panel arrived at four finalists each under the segments ‘Luxury/Upscale’ and ‘Mid-market’, and three finalists each for ‘Budget/Economy’ and ‘Serviced apartments’.

The winners will be selected by the HICSA delegates via an online voting system. The ‘Hotels of the Year Awards’ voting shall commence from the first week of March 2010 and will continue till April 7. The winners will be announced on the second day of HICSA, April 8, at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai as part of the conference programme.

“In line with the trend of increased segmentation within the hospitality industry, this year ‘Hotels of the Year Awards’ decided to take a step forward and diversify the segments for which the awards can be conferred allowing various hotel brands to nominate their properties that were not applicable last year due to limited hotel segmentation resulting to an addition of two more segments this year,” said Manav Thadani, managing director, HVS India.
