Monica Suri heads the largest room inventory property in Rajasthan. She brings to the table her vast experience of managing highly successful hotels over the last 15 years. Among the many challenges she has faced, one of the toughest involved dealing with undercutting in the Jaipur market and ensuring profitability, despite the fact that the luxury segment is dealing with prohibitive GST rates.
She has steered Jaipur Marriott on a growth path, working to increase revenue generation, reduce attrition, increase community engagement, besides working on staff health and associate welfare. In the process, Suri is driving diversity and staff empowerment. During her tenure, the hotel has seen an increase in room inventory (by 55 rooms) and has added on a nightclub, restaurant and two banquet spaces. Suri believes that there is no one right leadership style. “A great leader shall be able to adapt her style as the situation demands, and work towards involving the entire team in executing the best possible solutions,” Suri says.
