The Grand Jury for the Hotelier India Awards 2010, scheduled to take place on December 16, at the Westin Gurgaon has been finalised.
The distinguished panel includes industry stalwarts Rajeev Menon, area vice president for India, Pakistan, Maldives & Malaysia, Marriott International, Anil Madhok, managing director, Sarovar Hotels, Uttam Dave, head of development, Accor hotels, Liam Lambert, president, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Ankur Bhatia, executive director, Bird Group, Rajiv Kaul, president, The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts, Manav Thadani, managing director, HVS India, Vijay Thacker, managing director, Horwath India, Nakul Anand, CEO, Hotels Division, ITC, Ajoy Misra, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces and Keshav Baljee, President and co-promoter, Royal Orchid Hotels.
The countdown to the extended nominations deadline of November 15, has begun.
Commenting on his expectations out of the second edition of the Hotelier India Awards, Anil Madhok, said, “As the jury we will be looking to identify individuals who show good technical competence – obviously. Another area that we will focus on is leadership qualities among the candidates who are nominated.”
Adding to it, Manav Thadani, said: “This is a great initiative by Hotelier India and I think it has caught the imagination of the youngsters who are working in the hotel industry. Hopefully it will encourage them to put their best foot forward.”
Rajeev Menon says the Awards will encourage the younger hoteliers to strive harder to take Indian hospitality to higher skies. “At this year’s Hotelier India Awards we expect to recognize some of the great hospitality talent across India while encouraging the younger talent to excel. Over the next five to ten years the Indian hospitality industry will witness explosive growth and award celebrations like these, aim to put the spotlight on this very important asset which will help facilitate growth and make India a great hospitality destination.”
