What does your job entail on a daily basis?
I start my day with meeting my associates and taking the area rounds. Then I check on my follow-ups and important tasks, reply to emails, attend meetings, meet guests and attend to their feedback. I close my day with a de-brief with shift supervisors.

What is your favourite part of this job?
My job is very interesting as it is always full of various situations related to guests, associates, or the hotel product. All of them are full of surprises and learning.

Which parts of the job do you not like and how do you motivate yourself to do them?
The most monotonous part of my day is to deal with unwanted mails that could have been sorted out with just one phone call. In such situations, I follow the mantra ‘Get it done, get it done now. Do not procrastinate.’

What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you at work?
One of my colleagues got late for work on a very busy day. He was so tensed that he forgot to wear his trousers before he left the changing room. A few minutes later, he rushed back to the changing room closing the door behind him. It was hilarious as many people saw him in his funny state.

What would you like to be reborn as and why?
I would like to be reborn as an industrialist. Such individuals have great persona, vision, and tenacity. They can reform and develop a nation in difficult conditions. I admire their power to influence our tomorrow.

What is your all time favorite movie and why?
Lagaan – it is entertaining as well as educating. It outlines the human nature of dealing with any challenge.

If you could do any job in the world, what would it be?
A teacher or a trainer. Both of them focus on developing and grooming a particular group towards the better future of an organisation or a nation. They help people to focus on their goals and targets.

Which celebrities have you met at work and what were they like?
I have served Amitabh, Abhishek and Jaya Bachchan. They are humble and, like any other family, like to spend some quiet time together at a restaurant.

Which is your favourite hotel in the world?
I started my career with Renaissance Mumbai Hotel and Convention Center and it happens to be my favourite place as well. It exudes the Marriott values of people, place, and purpose. Above all, it has a great work culture.

What is your motto in life?
Strive for the best and don’t worry about the results.
