Taj & Oberoi among ET Travel Award winners

Taj and Oberoi were among hotel winners at the Economic Times-TAAI Travel Awards held in Dubai.

Taj’s Gateway Hotel won for the top budget hotels brand, the Oberoi Hotel, Mumbai was awarded the best business-cum-luxury hotel and the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai was awarded the best heritage property. Goa’s Majorda Beach Resort was the only stand-alone hotel winner for being the best leisure resort in India.

EIH (Oberoi) chairman PRS Oberoi was awarded the lifetime achievement award.

Other winners include the Goa and Singapore tourism boards, Raj Travels & Tours and Cox and Kings (India) (As tour operators), Yatra.com for being India’s top-rated online travel site and airlines Kingfisher Red, Kingfisher Airline and Emirates and British Airways.

Special awards were also given to Ankur Bhatia, executive director of Bird Group, Rahul Bhatia, managing director of InterGlobe Enterprises and Kouni India.
