Starting with the launch of their Mumbai property last evening, the Svenska Group is planning to develop 20 hotels over the next 10 years. The vision is to become the pre‐eminent boutique design business hotel brand, managing a chain of hotels across three primary regions: Asia‐Pacific (APAC), Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and North America (NA).
Focused on personalised hospitality with small‐format (less than 100 rooms) upscale 5‐star hotels, Svenska is a lifestyle designer brand with a distinct European accent. Based on Swedish design philosophy of clean, straight lines and minimalist interiors, Svenska emphasizes on natural materials and earthy colours to give a chic yet sophisticated look.
The first two hotels of Svenska in India are in Mumbai and Bangalore. Svenska Mumbai saw its soft launch in December 2010 and Svenska Bangalore is opening in February 2011. Additional hotels are in various stages of acquisition and development in New Delhi, Kolkata, Kakinada, Bhilwara, Raipur, Dehradun and Trivandrum.
The Svenska Group of Hotels comprises of various companies in Sweden and India, focused on owning, designing, developing, managing, marketing and branding the Svenska chain of small‐format (30‐100 rooms) upscale 5‐star luxury boutique design hotels.
