A master conceptualiser, Ankur Bhatia’s foray into hospitality began in early 2013 when he created the first tastefully done ice rink at Gurgoan’s Ambience Mall. But what he is best known for is the urban resort Dusit Devrana. Today the group has four uber luxury properties in India and the UK, and has ventured into International markets through acquisition of The Royal Park Hotel and The Forbury in UK. “Travel and Tourism has been a key growth sector for the Indian economy and has proven its resilience amidst economic challenges including VUCA world. The increasing numbers of both domestic as well as international tourists have been very encouraging for India. This has led to an aggressive development activity and provided avenues for expansion of various hotel brands especially in the luxury segment. We have been able to capitalise on this trend by creating world-class hospitality assets at all our properties nationally and internationally,” he says. Elaborating more on the group’s plan ahead, he adds, “Currently we are consolidating all our properties under the banner of Roseate Hotels and Resorts. Our first property Roseate House is scheduled for an opening in Aerocity New Delhi this year. Besides this, we are planning on expanding our footprints to Jaipur, Rishikesh and Goa, which are all under various stages of development. Aquisitions are also in the pipeline.”
