Sarovar Hotels & Resorts has signed the Poetree Sarovar Portico in Thekkady – Kerala, with promoters Travelscapes Hotels. This will be Sarovar’s third property in Kerala after Vasundhara Sarovar Premiere at Vayalar and Gokulum Park at Kochi.

Located near the Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary the hotel is expected to be operational by 2012. Keeping in mind the location of the hotel all the rooms are being constructed along the natural contour of a hillock, thereby ensuring a 180-degree panoramic view of the Sahyadri ranges and the Periyar Lake. Of the 101 rooms envisaged, 38 rooms will be commissioned initially along with a conference facility and a spa.

According to Sarovar Hotels MD Anil Madhok, “Poetree Sarovar Portico at Thekaddy will bring to the city a branded option at a value for money price point and unmatched hospitality services.”

Hotelscapes MD R Regunath says, “This hotel is a unique combination of earthy architecture in an ethnic ambience imbibing eco-conservation practices. We are partnering Sarovar Hotels as it is distinctly positioned to optimally manage and operate hotels of different scale, location and segment through its different brands.”
