Petpooja, a next-generation restaurant management platform offering Point of Sale (POS) software, has announced expansion into the international markets of UAE and South Africa. In the UAE, the company partnered with eLine Hospitality and in South Africa, the company partnered with Zestro. Both these partners have an extensive network of restaurants in their respective regions and, ever since collaborating, have dedicated their teams for sales as well as customer support for Petpooja’s expansion.

With their presence at the ground level, the company has been able to create brand awareness and increase its sales. With the PoS’ effective solutions, it has already started creating a mark and has acquired around 10% clients in the UAE and South Africa. This was made possible by realizing and leveraging the potential that PoS offered in these markets.

Petpooja helps restaurants manage their billing, inventory, online orders, menu, staff and customers. It is currently processing over 20% of online orders for the food delivery giants Swiggy and Zomato placed through the restaurants. Having multiple partners in more than 30,000 clients in 140+ cities in India has helped the platform in scaling and venturing into international markets of UAE and South Africa.

Speaking on the latest developments, Shaival Desai, VP of Company Growth, said, “Simplicity and support are the USP of the Petpooja software. At the end of the day, the biller needs his bills settled, and the owner needs complete business visibility. With our restaurant management software, we have ensured these two aspects are never compromised on, regardless of how advanced our software becomes. And if they need our assistance, we are there for our clients even in the middle of the night. 365 days 24×7. We are thrilled to announce that we have expanded our business further in the international markets by establishing our presence in the UAE and South Africa. Petpooja is all about ease of use, efficiency, and technology. We are looking to integrate automation into almost every aspect of the industry and continue our business expansion.”

In 2020, PetPooja received funding of $1.9 million from B2B e-commerce unicorn, Udaan. Further, in 2021 it received funding of $4.5 million from Aroa Ventures, Udaan and GVFL limited. To fulfil their vision of automating the restaurant industry, the company has created the ‘Waiter calling device’; this small device is set on the restaurant table and allows the customer to summon a waiter if and when they require assistance without having to wait for waiters’ attention.

Receiving phenomenal responses nationally and internationally, Petpooja is looking at an aggressive expansion in future. In the UAE, the company aims to have a team of 10 people and is on track to add over 500 outlets. In South Africa where Petpooja has commenced its journey just 6 months ago, the company is positive about building a team of 6-8 people with the aim of covering over 300 outlets. In India, Petpooja strives to secure more than 1 lakh clients. All of these are milestones planned to be achieved by the end of the year. For its long-term goals, the company aims at developing better technology to fully automate the restaurant experience for customers.
