Delhi Leela Palace to be partially open for CWG

The Leela Palace New Delhi will be partially operational in the first week of October 2010.

According to Shashank Warty, Area Vice President, Hotel Leelaventure Limited, around 150 rooms and a couple of restaurants will be ready before the Commonwealth Games.

The games are scheduled to be held in Delhi from October 3 to 14, 2010.

The hotel will become fully operational by the end of this year.

The Group bagged three-acre land from Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in 2007 through an open auction at a staggering Rs 611 crore in 2007. Initially, it had plans to fully open the hotel before the Commonwealth Games.
