Come for the building, stay for the toasters

On January 28, from 4:00 pm onwards, hoteliers can learn from experts why, and how, it makes sense to have green designs in hospitality

Since the last one decade, there has been tremendous growth in green buildings in the hospitality and retail sector. Building green has plenty of advantages in terms of savings and improved worker well-being. Of course, in India, largely the green buildings are not 100% green, but it’s still an improvement to the conventional brick-and-slab buildings.

The shift to green in hospitality and retail is not confined to construction alone. According to some reports we stumbled upon in the public domain, more than 50% of retail and hotel owners also expect to go green in their operations & maintenance too. Especially in the hospitality and retail sector, green premises offer plenty of energy savings and achieve higher asset value and higher building RoI.

In this light, Construction Week and International Finance Corporation (A World Bank Group) are organising a virtual panel discussion to understand the advantages and costs factors in constructing hospitality and retail edifices green.

Panellists comprise Ajay Koshy, Head, Design Management, Brigade Group; Beck John, Executive VP, Architecture, Panchshil Realty; Ridham Shah, Director, Rajyash Group; and Shabbir Kanchwala, Sr VP, K Raheja Corp. The discussion will be moderated by Sandeep Singh, Sr Consultant, IFC.
