The Barbeque Company raises $1.5 million in pre-seed round

In a pre-seed round, Delhi-based The Barbeque Company (TBC) has secured $1.5 million from a group of angel investors. A brainchild of Harmandeep Khurana, the brand opened its first restaurant in New Delhi’s Janakpuri in 2015.

The restaurant chain will use the funds to open more company-owned outlets. Additionally, it plans to launch branches in major cities in India before and moving into tier-2 and three towns in the next phase.

To boost its revenue, TBC will also focus on opening more Express outlets for Takeaways. Khurana has already tested this model during the pandemic and found it to be highly successful and sustainable. He added that the company will acquire fresh talent and add competent members to its core team to make inroads in the overseas markets through a franchisee network. The first location at Dubai is almost finalised, stated TBC’s CMO, Shashank/

Presently, TBC has six branches, which reportedly have a profitable business model and healthy cash flow. Talking about the brand’s growth over the past few year, Khurana said, “Since the Indian market is vast, tier 2, 3, and 4 towns are unexplored by our competitors. We intend to establish 10 additional locations in the next few months, with a sales target of INR 50 crores. Our premium buffet will be available at the same price for customers without any compromise on ambience or quality.”
