In a series of evolving investments in the start-up ecosystem, the digital technology company ‘Buffering’ attracts yet another investment, this time from the Ex President & ED and founding team member of Lemon Tree Hotels, Rahul Pandit.
Rahul Pandit has reportedly invested in the political tech company ‘Buffering’ founded by entrepreneurs Amit B. Wadhwani, Manoj Motiani & Darshini Khatri in 2020. This investment comes less than a fortnight after singer Sonu Nigam and Arvog Finance reported their equity commitment to the venture.
Rahul was the Founding MD & CEO of Hamstede Living, a rental housing JV of Warburg Pincus. He was previously the MD & CEO of TATA Group’s Ginger Hotels.
Amit B Wadhwani, Founder of Buffering said, ‘Rahul’s belief in the venture and his investment shows confidence in our team’s capabilities and business acumen. Our team is glad to have an industry stalwart as an early investor. His experience will further strengthen and pace our growth and expansion’.
‘Buffering currently offers services by invitation only to 56 best political figures across India, offering them digital, data, technology and AI based amplification solutions. The current valuation of Buffering stands at $55M. It aspires to reach revenues of Rs. 1200 crores by 2023, with majority coming in from election campaigning. Buffering plans to raise Rs. 150 crores over the next 6 months to spread the network prior to 2022 – the big election year in India’, Amit Wadhwani said.
Rahul Pandit said, ‘The integrated power of data and digital in the political space has yet not been explored in India. It needs to be driven through enabling technology and the science of associated insights. This is a scalable growth and massive opportunity sector’.
Meanwhile, Darshini Khatri, Co-Founder said, ‘India will see numerous elections in the days to come. With our team and expertise, our focus is growth and expansion in a streamlined manner covering the length and breadth of the nation’.
Manoj Motiani, Co-Founder and Creative Head said, ‘A lot is going to change in the way that political parties and leaders engage and communicate on a nationwide basis. New narratives will revolve around how people live, think, express and participate.
