The Queen of Hills is blooming with the influx of tourists in these days. Tourists especially from nearby areas like Delhi, NCR, Gurgaon, Haryana can be seen enjoying and spending their evening in the enchanting roads of Mussoorie.
Mussoorie is continuously emerging as one of the most preferred location for getaway for the tourists. While sharing his views, Sandeep Sahni, President Hotel and Restaurant Association, Uttarakhand said, “ Mussoorie is continuously witnessing increment in the tourists footfall. The maximum tourists arriving are from Delhi, NCR and nearby locations. In October, we have observed 30-40% increment in the number of tourists as compared to September. Hotels and Restaurants in Mussoorie are also witnessing an upsurge in the booking of tourists and keeping in mind the festive seasons ahead, these numbers are bound to increase further.”
Tourism Minister, Uttarakhand, Satpal Maharaj said, “Post the Covid 19 lockdown, several positive initiatives have been undertaken to promote tourism in Unlock by the state government and the results are now evident with the increase in the number of tourists. The tourism stakeholders are successfully implementing all the safety measures as per the guidelines issued by the government of Uttarakhand and the tourists are visiting the state hassle free.”
Secretary Tourism, Dilip Jawalkar said, “The enthusiasm of tourists coming to Mussoorie is evident of the fact that tourism is returning back in Uttarakhand. These are positive signs for the state with a tourism-based economy. We are rapidly moving towards normalcy. We expect that all the tourism stakeholders will follow the guidelines issued in view of Covid 19 so that the confidence of tourists will be increased in visiting Uttarakhand.”
