The Ministry of Home Affairs has released guidelines for the fifth phase of lockdown, which has been extended until June 30th.
According to the new guidelines, the government has laid out a roadmap for the phased reopening of services in areas outside the containment zone.
In the first phase, which is also referred to as Unlock-1 in the MHA guidelines, will see the resumption of religious places, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services from June 8th.
However, these facilities will not be able to resume operations inside containment zones designated by authorities in states and additionally, the resumption of these activities is conditional to the standard operating procedures to be released by the ministry of health and welfare, said a government notification.
“Ministry of health and family welfare will issue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the above activities in consultation with the Central Ministries/Departments concerned and other stakeholders, for ensuring social distancing and to contain the spread of Covid-19,” said the government order released by the ministry of home affairs.
In terms of resumption of International travel, the MHA guideline has listed out it in the third-phase of reopening, which further will be assessed based on the situation. Besides, the third phase may also see the resumption of cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums.
