Amid Coronavirus pandemic, museums and galleries across the globe are now offering virtual tours online

While tourist attractions across the world are shutting its door to travellers as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of novel Coronavirus, museums and galleries are now adopting new-age technology to reach out to people.

With more and more people staying indoors and practicing the new norm of social distancing, museums and galleries are now offering virtual tours online of their sites, given the temporary homebound lifestyle. More than 500 museums and galleries across the globe are now offering online tours.

Prominent museums that are offering online tours include New York’s MoMA, Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam; British Museum, London; Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Santa Fe; Musee D’Orsay, Paris; The Met, New York; Tate Britain, London; Scottish National Gallery, Edinburgh; Musée du Louvre, Paris.

People can now also check Google’s Arts and Culture collections and can also access works from some of the best and renowned museums, including the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and Tate Modern in London. Virtual tours are also available for museums including the Uffizi Galleries.
