Slice of Italy, the popular Italian food chain across North India with 14 outlets is on course to double its footprint by year end 2010 which inlcudes moving in to Western India for the first time.
Its 15th outlet is shceduled to open in Indrapuram, Ghaziabad later this month while the company is optimistic of doubling this tally with at least 15-20 more.
“We certainly do have plans for other areas of India, but in the second phase of expansion, which will also take place in the second half of 2010. The process of short listing locations is on. To begin with, we are optimistic about Gujarat and Maharashtra,” said Anurag Sharma, vice-president, Slice of Italy.
The company is looking at an investment of Rs25-30 lakh for unit franchisees and Rs1.2-1.5 crore for master franchisees. The Gujarat and Maharashtra outlets will be based on the master franchisee model.
“As far as the product is concerned, the consumer is the best judge. All I can say is in terms of prices we are very competitive. It is not just about pizzas, we have a huge range of pastas and cakes as well. We will be launching a high-fibre diet pizza for the calorie-conscious in the first week of February,” said Sharma.
