This year has been tough for the entire world. The way a new normal was thrust upon us by the pandemic really gave us time to reflect on our priorities. And while the struggles we faced must be acknowledged, the real battle was fought on the frontline by our healthcare workers and the farmers that ensured that we did not starve in times of scarcity. In a bid to honour these brave-hearts, Novotel Hyderabad Airport celebrated the ‘Solidarity Week 2020’.
The week began with the felicitation of local farmers under the concept “Anna Dhatha Sukhi Bhava”. Their contribution, support, and hard work ensured that the crops reaped by them provided health and nourishment that was essential to building immunity against COVID-19.
As the week progressed, the hotel hosted lunch for 25 COVID warriors which included doctors at the COVID test centre at the Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad International Airport. The hotel also expressed their gratitude by felicitating them with a traditional shawl and a memento. The felicitation was followed by a Novotel Specialty Lunch as a token of gratitude for their vigorous support and hard work.
Besides, the hotel also ensured to visit SOS Village, a non-profit Orphanage to assist the unprivileged children’s well-being by donating 100 bedsheets, sustenance provisions, and notebooks. They also called upon Anuraag Human Services, a non-profit that is home to the disabled and elderly. To do their bit, Novotel also distributed groceries stock of almost a month and walkers to those who require assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, Rubin Cherian, General Manager, Novotel Hyderabad Airport said, “The Solidarity Week gives us the opportunity to give back in our best capacity. This year was tumultuous and stressful, to say the least. Amidst all the chaos, knowing that several people, from Doctors to Farmers to Essential Workers, were looking out for our health and safety, was what kept us going. We at Novotel Hyderabad Airport are truly glad that we were able to show our gratitude and respect towards them. We wish to keep commending the courage of our fighters and help keep lifting those who depend on small acts of kindness from humanity.”
