Swajal, a water tech startup company focused on launching innovative technologies to make clean drinking water affordable, accessible and reliable, has launched WaterCube in India. The product helps hospitality companies and business houses to switch from plastic water to a more sustainable solution with WaterCube’s ‘S Series’ and ‘X Series’.
The X Series WaterCube, is designed especially for the hospitality sector. It has smaller systems that wash, sterilize, fill and seal glass water bottles.
The intention is to help hotels discard the use of plastic bottles and easily transition to glass bottles, thereby delivering only high-quality, ultra-premium alkaline mineralised water.
Currently, Swajal is working with premium hotel brands in India including Andaz, JW Marriott, Conrad, Radisson Hotel Group, Le Meridien, Fern and Hyatt Hotels. In the corporate sector, it is already working with companies like HCL, Genpact, Deloitte, BCG, Indian Oil and Agilent Technologies. Swajal’s ‘S Series’ WaterCube comprises point-of-use water purifiers, which can be installed at schools, hospitals, and corporates.
“Most workspaces as well as hotels in India currently rely on 20L plastic water jars for hydration. Our intention is to massively reduce this reliance on plastic, which is not only damaging our environment, also our health by ingestion of microplastics,” said Dr. Vibha Tripathi, ex- IIT researcher and CEO of Swajal. “This is only achievable by adopting environmentally conscious business practices. Thus, the introduction of WaterCube is a significant initiative taken for a greener tomorrow.”
She added that shifting to this system will help the hospitality industry to switch from plastic bottles to glass bottles as well as corporates to eliminate packaged drinking water. WaterCube can also monitor each drop of water for quality and maximize the efficiency of purifier with AI-enabled technology.
