Deterioration of wine is becoming a major problem for the F&B industry since it causes significant economic losses, especially in the case of expensive wine. Restaurant managers often face the challenge of storing leftover wine. Once they open the bottle, they have to ensure its contents are consumed quickly or the wine can turn bad.
To help hotels and restaurant better manage this inventory and prevent it from going into the trash, Monika Enterprises in partnership with World of Wines introduced the Coravin Wine Preservation system in India. This wine opener prevents the wine from going bad and keeps it fresh for a longer period of time.
The product comprises different components like the aerator, gas capsule and needle. It is loaded up with an argon gas capsule and a needle is inserted into the cork, which carries the argon gas into the bottle and displaces the required amount of wine allowing it to flow into the wine glass.
This keeps the bottle pressurised and does not let any oxygen enter the bottle. Once the needle is removed, the cork reseals naturally as though it was never opened. Hence, the wine bottle can be preserved for a longer time.
This method of aeration offers several benefits. It evaporates unfavourable sulphides and ethanol compound, while boosting the wine’s flavour and helping it reach its peak taste sooner.
