Lemon Tree Hotels has been recognised among India’s Best WorkplacesT for Women 2023 and India’s Best Workplaces for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging 2023 by Great Place to Work. These attributes are the front and center of building and sustaining a new-age organisation that drives both, purpose and performance.
These recognitions are an outcome of the Workplace Inclusion Index assessment. This is the only study in the country that captures the voices of historically excluded communities (including individuals who identify as women, other gender identities, LGBTIQA+, persons with disabilities, veterans, individuals returning from a career break, individuals from indigenous tribes, and other under-represented minorities in the country). To be eligible for these recognitions, organisations need to have at least 10% from historically excluded groups from the overall workforce.
Eligible organisations were also assessed on consistency in employee feedback, inclusive practices, and HEG representation to arrive at India’s Best Workplaces for Women and India’s Best Workplaces in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging 2023.
Speaking about the honour, Rajesh Kumar, Senior Vice President – HR, Lemon Tree Hotels, said, “We are committed to ensuring the well-being and self-worth of our colleagues, who are of the utmost importance to us, and enhancing this by building a culture of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity. Inclusion and diversity lie at the core of Lemon Tree Hotels, with a special focus on empowering women across levels and roles, and ensuring their comfort and growth in the work place. We also have a goal of mainstreaming ‘Opportunity Deprived Individuals’ i.e., ODIs into our workforce, which includes hiring people from marginalised backgrounds, including those who are physically and/or intellectually differently abled, acid survivors, orphans, widows, school dropouts, transgenders and those who are socially/educationally/economically deprived. Lemon Tree Hotels currently employs more than 11% women and 14% opportunity deprived individuals (ODIs) and the target for FY 26 is 15% and 30% respectively. There is an active recruitment policy to ensure that these targets are achieved in a timely manner.”
