NEC-TATA Indicom partner for hospitality services

NEC India and Tata Indicom Broadband have entered into an alliance to offer integrated solutions for hospitality and education verticals. The two companies will target a common customer base and bundle their products.

A subsidiary of NEC Asia and NEC Corporation, NEC India would integrate Tata Indicom Broadband’s offerings in its direct marketing initiatives aimed at the hospitality and education sectors. Tata Indicom Broadband, in turn, would offer special discounts on a bouquet of related value added services which will expedite the empowering of educational institutes and the hospitality industry.

Speaking on the tie-up Rajiv Bhalla, country head sales and marketing, NEC India said, “We collectively aim to fortify the education and hospitality sectors with latest and superior technology and custom-made solutions. Our alliance with Tata Indicom Broadband will facilitate us in strengthening our business capabilities in India and also to expand our IT and networking businesses in the rapidly expanding Indian market.”

NEC offers solutions and services for ubiquitous networking supported by Next Generation Network (NGN) and IT integrated technologies. This partnership will enable both companies to capitalise on their respective strengths. Going forward NEC and Tata Indicom Broadband would explore further opportunities to take this relationship forward offering exciting bundled promotions, the companies said.

NEC India has also recently launched a new set of solutions for small and medium sized businesses (SMB) built around NEC’s UNIVERGE360 approach. The system puts people, and their role, in the center of communications providing enterprise-class, unified communications (UC) and VoIP features designed to help improve work efficiency and information availability. Its UNIVERGE SV8000 series, under the Univerge360, deliver next-generation, open standards-based solutions.

The company also deals in private network solutions products such as Key Telephone Systems, /PBX/IP-PBX and solutions. It has already appointed Syntel as its national channel partner.
