Saraf owns 10 major hotels in India and Nepal, which largely fall under the Hyatt umbrella. He is aggressively pursuing development of new hotels in the rapidly growing cities of Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Bodhgaya, and across the crucial Buddhist circuit. He has also helped bring Hyatt’s super-luxury product, Andaz to Delhi.
Juniper Hotels trace their origin back to 1977, when it set up its first property, Yak and Yeti, in Kathmandu. Like most of his family of self-made entrepreneurs, Saraf believes in taking calculated risks. A serial entrepreneur, he has several business interests, is a culture aficionado, and has recently launched The Taragaon Museum in Kathmandu. His interests extend beyond business, to the fields of education and health. A man of many talents, Saraf’s other passions range from trekking to mountaineering and study of various Himalayan cultures.
