Crafted for the Hyatt Regency in Dehradun, these touches of paradise delight every visitor. Various forms converge on this door to create a unique first impression. Brass beaten rings are inlaid into engraved, durable wood. The semi-rings are both an evocative, and soothing form. A fitting design for an entrance.
The landscape for the hotel features many pine cones so they paid our homage in art. Inside the halls, the life-sized pinecone with careful detailing is crafted from natural teakwood. It’s this warm-toned accent that balances the urban home. Finally, several artworks created and curated by Baaya for interior styling spin a riveting story across the rooms. One particular piece consists of saw cut barks of wood preserved in transparent resin. It is then composed into a wall mural with a striking wooden backing. With every distinct charming touch, this place is transformed. The project was done under the conceptual framework provided by And studio (Love Chaudhary).
Surrounded by pine cones and wood, they drew inspiration from all that is around Hyatt Regency Dehradun to amplify the interiors within. The mural in this lobby is one that stands out for its fine craftsmanship. With saw cut preserved in transparent resin, the piece uses a symmetric composition of natural tones. We also customized a wooden backing to enhance to create a balance between luxury and nature.
Amongst multiple Baaya touches across the property, one in particular, makes every entrance grand. This door, eclectic and unmissable, features beaten brass rings inlaid into engraved wood. The hand-designed shapes contrast perfectly, teasing out the space’s chief advantage – a dance between nature and luxury.
This luxury hotel in Dehradun features a spectacular surrounding. Most areas are ornamented with pinecones, and the brown tones add value wherever they go. So, inspired by its own landscape, the designer constructed this life-sized pinecone. Hand-carved from wood, the artisanal touch amplifies the hallways and pays homage to the land.
The large doors with circular gilded engravings were a result of much deliberation. To depict the perfect synthesis between luxury and the wilderness started as a much loved creative brief that compelled us to investigate what that means to us at Baaya. What emerged were life-sized pine sculptures that told stories of the great outdoors while the circular gold impressions reminded one as they came and left – that the balance can and does exist.
For Dehradun Hyatt, we handpicked artworks that translated the property’s stories into the rooms within. Since a lush pinecone influence exists around Hyatt, we drew on the element to create a palette. The stone carved panels have been created meticulously by hand to capture the rough and smooth edges of a natural pine. Meanwhile, the framed works add colour to the immersion – while keeping its photo-realistic beauty in tact.
A poignant work of art, this evocative scene has been constructed by Baaya for the hotel . The beaten brass on the table transforms the wood and elevates the ambience. The brass fixture in the back, carefully conceptualized, highlights the touch of luxury, without going over the top. Complete with the subtle light fixtures, this is a space where each passing individual is compelled to stop and stare.
