Andaz Delhi announced the opening of The Hong Kong Club, a multi-level evening destination that features modern Cantonese dishes and small plate servings prepared by five Chinese chefs, a contemporary bar that elevates to a club lounge and live entertainment.
Speaking on The Hong Kong Club’s food philosophy, Alex Moser, executive chef, Andaz Delhi said, “Working with Chef Fuhai, chef de cuisine at The Hong Kong Club, we have created a menu inspired by Hong Kong Cantonese cooking. Using carefully sourced ingredients, many from our local partners and time-honoured techniques brought up to date. As a result, we have created a modern menu with punchy flavours and the occasional edgy twist.”
The menu at the open kitchen restaurant represents the modern Hong Kong Cantonese repertoire, and is inspired by the traditional dim sum teahouses, little restaurants at street corners and sophisticated fine-dining restaurants and bars that are peppered throughout Hong Kong’s high street.
The bar, which forms the centerpiece of the restaurant, is an inviting spot to lounge with small plates and eclectic cocktails. The bar menu offers a special menu of cocktails inspired by the twelve signs of the Chinese Zodiac.
A large variety of spectacular acts including exotic dancers, themed shows, aerialist and acrobats will be seen performing regularly. Guests will also be able to watch mixologists perform at the bar, and dance to curated collections of music by an in-house international DJ.
The restaurant can be accessed from the hotel as well as through a separate exterior street-facing entrance. The glass pavilion housing the restaurant takes a dominant role in the hotel central courtyard. A captivating and exotic story is expressed through the design, which also reflects a subtle change of tone within the overall design approach of the hotel.
The dramatic interiors reflect Chinoiserie with a modern and sultry mood accentuated by intriguing art woven around the love story of a young Indian sailor Arya and his love in Hong Kong — an elusive and mysterious Asian Beauty-Li Na.
