Culinary Culture launches digital contest for Home Chefs

Culinary Culture, India’s most prestigious culinary platform, announced the launch of “Plate of Love”, a digital only contest for home chefs, food bloggers and other culinary enthusiasts. The contest commences on the 28th of July and participants can choose to recreate either a Biryani or a Pulao, two of India’s most loved dishes.

An all-star jury of some of India’s most eminent personalities will “hand pick” three winners on the bases of creativity, presentation and personal inspiration. The winners will be awarded cash prizes of Rs. One Lakh for First Place, Rs. Fifty Thousand for Second Place and Rs. Twenty-Five Thousand for Third Place.

Culinary Culture has brought together a jury of rich repertoire that share a common love and passion for food. The jury comprises of Chef Vineet Bhatia, the first Indian to win a Michelin Star, Actor Huma Qureshi who comes from a legacy of culinary maestros, ace photographer and producer Atul Kasbekar, Indian-born British chef and women’s activist Asma Khan, Actor Tamannaah Bhatia, who’s currently a host on a popular Telegu reality cooking show and Vir Sanghvi, India’s authority on all things food.

Speaking about this unique photo led contest, Raaj Sanghvi, CEO, Culinary Culture said, “No one in India really does anything for home chefs, as an industry we tend to concentrate on restaurant and TV chefs. This is our attempt to showcase India’s vibrant home chef community and highlight the stars among them on a national platform. The lockdown gave rise to a large group of passionate foodies that had time to hone their culinary skills through Youtube and other digital platforms, we want to encourage them and reward them with cash prizes. This is a philanthropic initiative, there are no sponsors involved or strings attached and we plan on creating more exciting concepts and opportunities like this going forward.”

Three simple steps to participate include: Recreating a Biryani or Pulao at home, adding the individual’s own twist and posting a photo of the dish on Instagram with the hashtag #CCPlateOfLove. Participants must explain the twists they have added in the caption and tell the judges why the dish is special to them.
