Sanjana Patel was crowned the first Pastry Queen of India at the two-day championship held in Gurgaon at Academy of Pastry Arts India in association with Remini Fiera, Italy (Organiser of SIGEP) and Elle & Vire. After two strenuous days, executive chef at La Folie Patisserie and Chocolaterie, Sanjana Patel from Mumbai, emerged as India’s first ever ‘Pastry Queen’. She will now represent the nation at the upcoming Ladies World Pastry Champoinship, SIGEP, Italy, to be held in January 2016. According to chef Patel, it was dedication and her training which helped her winning the contest. “I would like to give good result in the Ladies World Pastry Championship too.”
The competition was judged by leading pastry chefs including chef Dinesh Rawat, director, Academy of Pastry Arts India, chef Avijit Ghosh, corporate pastry chef, The Leela Palace Bangalore, and chef Thomas of Dabon International Pvt Ltd The competitors were judged on their professional skills and ability to provide a practical demonstration of trends and progress in pastry arts.
