Winners for Hotelier India Awards 2011 announced

UTC presents Hotelier India Awards 2011 in association with Philips concluded at a glittering ceremony at the Westin Gurgaon on December 16, 2011. The awards saw a turnout of more than 500 industry professionals vying to be counted amongst the best in the industry.

The glittering ceremony was attended by industry giants such as Vikram Oberoi, COO, The Oberoi Group; Uttam Dave President & CEO, InterGlobe Hotels; Navneen Jain, Duet Hotels; Navneet Bali, CFO, Duet India Hotels, Rajeev Menon, Area Vice President India, Malaysia, Maldives & Australia, Marriott International, Navjit Ahluwalia, Senior VP Development, Marriott International and many other hospitality professionals from all over India.

The jury consisted of key industry figures such as Anil Madhok, MD, Sarovar Hotels and Resorts; Chender Baljee CMD, Royal Orchid Hotels Limited; Dilip Puri, MD, India and regional VP, South Asia, Starwood Asia Pacific; Hotels and Resorts, Dipak Haksar, COO, ITC Luxury Collection & WelcomHotels; Homi Aibara, partner and consultant, Mahajan & Aibara; KB Kachru EVP – South Asia, Carlson Hotels, Asia Pacific; Rajiv Kaul, President, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts; Rattan Keswani, President – Trident Hotels; Manav Thadani, Chairman,
HVS South Asia; and Vijay Thacker, director, Horwath HTL India.

The jury which met at the Trident Bandra Kurla on 25 November, came out with a shortlist of winners and runners-up.

The GMs were interviewed on the morning of the awards at the Optus Sarovar Premier in Gurgaon.

Capt. C. P. Krishnan Nair, Chairman and founder of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts was conferred Hotelier India’s Lifetime Achievement Award for creating landmarks of world-class luxury around the country in one the shortest period of time in the history of Indian hospitality.

Ms Priya Pual, Chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels was conferred the Hall of Fame Awards by the editorial board of the magazine.
