Portuguese national Cajetan A. Araujo has been promoted to hotel manager of the five-star Claridges, Surajkund business resort. In his new capacity, Araujo is responsible for all hotel operations at the 287-room property.
Outlining his management philosophy, Araujo said: “I believe that it’s important to connect with the hotel staff because everyone has a valid opinion. As a leader, it is vital that you share and drive passion by engaging with the team to achieve the best results.”
Cajetan brings over 18 years’ experience in the hospitality industry and has been associated with global properties, including InterContinental Central Park South and the New York Palace in New York City and the Fairmont Southampton Resort in Bermuda. His last assignment before The Claridges was at Fairmont Dubai as director of food and beverage. The 37-year-old joined the Surajkund property as executive assistant manager. He began his career as front desk agent in Geneva.
Cajetan graduated from École Les Roches in Switzerland; he holds a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Johnsons and Wales University in America, and also an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University. He speaks English, French and German, is married to an Austrian and has a three-year-old son. “It’s wonderful and exciting to be in India again and be part of this vibrant hotel,” he said.
