Sarovar Hotels & Resorts launched its economy brand Hometel in Chandigarh last month.
This is the city’s first branded economy hotel and Sarovar’s fourth Hometel in the country.
Hometel was first launched in Bengaluru in 2006, followed by Hyderabad and Mumbai. The 114-room Chandigarh hotel, owned and managed by Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, is the 45th hotel in the company’s portfolio and will further strengthen the group’s presence in the Indian hospitality sector.
Speaking to Hotelier India, Sarovar Hotels & Resorts executive director Ajay Bakaya said, ‘Hometel Chandigarh promises utmost comfort and unmatched hospitality to the economy traveller in the city. The hotel offers clean and functional rooms with modern amenities, together with approximately 12000-square feet of banquet and conference space. The proximity of the hotel to railway station and the IT park is an added USP.”
Hometel Chandigarh is located in the heart of city’s industrial area, within 10 minutes from the railway station and airport.
The ballroom is the largest in the city at the moment, able to accommodate 600 guests. The rooms offer minimalist design with a thrust on functionality and include essentials. Special trial offers are on at INR2195 for a single room and INR2495 for a double, including buffet breakfast and wi-fi access.
Sarovar Hotels plan to add five more Hometel in India by 2011 across Delhi, Pune, Chennai, Roorkee and Guwahati, with a consolidated inventory of over 500-rooms.
