Hotels Top Smartphone Searches

If technology companies and research findings thus far haven’t nudged a hotel into targeting smartphone-users with mobile-friendly reservation systems and other services, the latest Google IPSOS report should – it has revealed that nearly 50 per cent of smartphone users in India are using their devices to look up directions and hotels were the most searched for destinations across all three cities.

The study, released during October, delved into mobile behaviour in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai. The Imperial topped all Delhi searches, while The Trident Nariman Point and The Leela Kempinski hotels in Mumbai and Bengaluru respectively, and completed the circle.
Smartphone users in Delhi and Mumbai, according to the report, are also foodies with Karim’s and Hard Rock Cafe seeing the maximum number of searches, respectively.
