A 45-year-old US national was found dead in his hotel room in Colaba.
He had been staying at Volga Hotel for the last 15 days. The police suspect that William David Thomas may have died due to drug overdose. This was allegedly his ninth attempt to commit suicide, the police said.
When the housekeeping staff knocked on his first floor room, they did not get any response. The attendant saw blood coming out from the gap below the door and called the police. The police broke open the door and found his body on the floor. Thomas was rushed to St George Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The police have registered a case of accidental death.
