Hilton Worldwide’s extended stay brand targetted at the value-focused guest saw its first property open on February 3.
Hilton Worldwide president and CEO Christopher Nassetta told media persons that the brand had been well received by the development community. Announced about two years ago, the Home2Suites brand already has over 70 approvals for hotels, over 30 working deals and about a dozen hotels under construction scheduled to open in 2011 or 2012. So far Hilton has plans to expand the brand within the US and to take it to Canada and Mexico.
Home2Suites is targetting a 100 hotel milestone by 2013 or 2014.
The first property is a 119-key hotel located in Fayetteville, North Carolina and. It is owned by Apple Real Estate Investment
Trust (REIT) Companies, which owns 89 other Hilton Worldwide-branded hotels. The property has been developed by LBA Properties.
