This year’s theme is ‘Wellness Tourism’ and it will be held on the lush grounds of the Jaypee Palace in Agra.
Coming up towards the end of this month is the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India’s (FHRAI) 45th Annual Convention. To be held from August 27-29, 2010 at the Hotel Jaypee Palace and Convention Centre in Agra, this year’s theme focuses on Wellness Tourism.
The convention offers not only a unique opportunity for all the stakeholders of the Hospitality and Tourism Industry in India to meet on a common platform but also give participants a chance to meet and interact with the eminent speakers from the government, industry and academics.
The Courtesy of Choice committee has put together a very innovative programme that includes Wellness and Business Mantras. For entertainment there will also be a concert featuring international artistes and a Mirch Masala Quiz with Celebrity Chef Rakesh Sethi and Manjit Gill.
A special session for spouses has been organised called Mind Taaza Mood Fresh Antakshari along with a grooming and make-up session with Miss India finalist Mehar Bhasin.
For shopping enthusiasts there will be a Meena Bazaar showcasing famous handicrafts, leatherwork, footwear, brassware, Carpet, jewellery, clothing with zari and embroidery work, which will be on sale at a special price.
Most importantly, the eagerly awaited FHRAI Award Ceremony will take place at the convention on August 28, 2010.
Personal and organisation efforts are recognised through the annual awards that includes categories like the Young Hotel Entrepreneur of the year, Young Hotel Housekeeper of the year and the Environment Champions of the year.
For those who are so inclined, post-convention tours have also been organised to Gwalior, Orchha and Bharatpur.
FHRAI organised its 44th Annual Convention in Shanghai, China from October 12-14 in 2008 where the theme was Responsible Tourism. Held at the Great Tang Hotel in Shanghai, the convention played host to premier Chinese hoteliers and restaurateurs to understand their business practices.
