Jharkhand govt keen to set up hotels

According to a report in Times of India, in order to boost the tourism industry in the state, Bimla Pradhan, Tourism Minister, Jharkhand will develop religious places, set up hotels, open information kiosks and install hoardings in railway stations and bus stands across the state. The state tourism department is also working to explore possibilities of Mine Tourism in the state.

To make people aware of the popular tourist places in the state, the state tourist department will hang banners, posters and hoardings during the National Games, to be held from February 12-26, 2011 in the state. The state tourism department has taken the initiative to develop basic amenities like roads, uninterrupted electricity and water facilities in tourist spots. “We are coming up with hotel projects and presently setting up a state-of-the-art complex worth INR38 crore, comprising of residential rooms for pilgrims in Deoghar on bank of the Shivganga River,” added Pradhan.
