ITC’s Bukhara and DumPukht in Miele Guide’s top 20

By Raynah Coutinho

The Miele Guide, which is considered to be one of Asia’s most independent and authoritative restaurant guides, has rated Bukhara at ITC Maurya, New Delhi as the 14th and DumPukht at ITC Maratha, Mumbai as the 17th Best Restaurants in Asia.

This is in the second time that Bukhara has been featured in The Miele Guide – it was placed 11th last year. These are the only Indian restaurants to feature in the top 20.

Hong Kong and Singapore enjoyed the limelight in The Miele guide with six restaurants in Hong Kong and five from Singapore making it to the list.

Indonesia, like India had two of its restaurants on the list and Macau, Beijing, Malaysia, the Philippines and Japan all had one restaurant each on the list.

Singapore’s Iggy’s restaurant won the best restaurant title again this year – it had also won the title in 2008-09.

Launched in 2008, The Miele Guide was created to recognise and celebrate Asia’s best chefs and restaurants. The annual publication evaluates restaurants across the region and releases an annual ranking of Asia’s Top 20 restaurants in addition to profiling the best restaurants across Asia.
