Ishika Konar appointed as Executive Sous Chef at JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity

The 523-room JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity has appointed Chef Ishika Konar as Executive Sous Chef for the F&B Culinary department. Ishika comes with more than a decade of experience in handling kitchen operations and management.

Konar started her career in 2002 as Kitchen Management Trainee for Crowne Plaza Surya, New Delhi and was promoted to Chef De Partie, a year later, where she was in-charge of Le Café – the 24-hour coffee shop at the hotel. In October 2004, she moved to The Grand, New Delhi and in February 2006 she started working with Kabul Serena Hotel in Afghanistan as Chef De Partie.

Following this stint, she worked as Sous Chef at various leading hotels including InterContinental; The Lalit, Mumbai; Park Plaza, Dwarka New Delhi, and at the Westin, Gurgaon. She has also worked with Pullman, Gurgaon as Chef de Cuisine for over two years. Her last assignment was with The Lalit, New Delhi as Executive Sous Chef.

Chef Konar was also awarded Lady Chef of the Year in 2012 by ICF and IFCA. Her strengths lie in Mediterranean, South East Asian, Indian regional, German and Mexican cuisine and her forte lies in western hot kitchen and food plating.
