Himalaya International, credited as the first frozen food manufacturing company in India, is to set up India’s first functional food project at Keshwana Rajput near Behror, Jaipur, in Rajasthan.
Man Mohan Malik, chairman at Himalaya International, said the project will come up on 32 acres of land, with a total investment of Rs110 crores.
Malik said that major equipment will be imported from the USA, as will raw material and semi-finished fruit (from California). The plant is expected to process 20,000kg of almonds daily and will manufacture roasted, honey, chocolate-coated, and Jordan almonds, and also protein, cereal, and meal replacement bars.Â
