Getting the embattled FHRAI-IHM (F-IHM), the association’s hospitality management institute, back on track to save the careers of the 100 plus students is amongst the very top priorities for Rajindera Kumar, the new FHRAI president.
“The future of the young students is at stake. What happened this year is very wrong and puts them at great risk. One my main priorities is to sort out the mess at the institute,” said Kumar.
The F-IHM was one of the biggest losers in this year’s power struggle between FHRAI factions against and for the previous president MP Purushothaman. One of the main allegations against the former president is the misuse of over Rs40 lakh in the guise of advertisement and marketing costs towards getting a new batch of F-IHM students.
The lack of facilities and faculty finally prompted the students to go on strike.
