Five-star hotels on Lashkar terror radar

An undisclosed number of five-star hotels in popular tourist locations across India are targets of Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) a senior Indian Home Ministry official disclosed last evening.  Further, the official disclosed that two leading boarding schools located in prominent hill stations in a North Indian state were also on the LeT target list.

According to an intelligence input reported by the Press Trust of India, the terrorist group was planning to attack the two schools and the hotels, regularly frequented by foreign tourists, the Home Ministry official said.

The information came in the wake of reports that David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana, arrested by the FBI for plotting a major terror attack in India at the behest of Pakistan-based LeT, have revealed that they were planning to attack the National Defence College in New Delhi also.
