Lakshay Nirula of Taj Mahal New Delhi bags the Stelliers South Asia Award for Concierge Hotelier of the Year

Lakshay Nirula, Chef Concierge at Taj Mahal, New Delhi has been conferred with the ‘Concierge Hotelier of the Year South Asia 2019’ award at the prestigious Stelliers South Asia Awards.

Nirula’s journey as a hotelier began as an associate in the food & beverage department at Taj Mahal, New Delhi in 1997. Over the years, he grew through the ranks to become the Chef Concierge at the Hotel. He was a part of the opening team of The Pierre, New York and has won ‘The Best Concierge’ team award as well. He is also a member of the prestigious Les Clefs d’Or (The Golden Keys).

To Nirula, Concierge services forms a critical part of the industry and provides a highly personalised and human touch in an ever-growing technological world. He is fuelled by his passion to offer personalized services to his guests to further enhance their stay experience. In this new age, where everything comes to us effortlessly, he believes “it becomes even more important for a Concierge to provide the right level of customization in order to better connect with the guest.”

Formally known as The Hotelier Awards, Stelliers Asia and South Asia, these awards celebrate individual excellence thereby trying to inspire younger generations to enter the hospitality industry. Celebrating its sixth edition this year, the jury at the awards mulled through applications from 100 hotels from 19 countries to decide the winners. The Awards ceremony took place at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The evening celebration brought together over 300 hoteliers, industry professionals, their friends and families from around the region, as they commemorated the announcement of the 2019 Asia & South Asia Hoteliers of the Year.
