Wadia Group to foray into hospitality

With Nusli Wadia reshuffling responsibilities between his sons Jeh (Jehangir) and Ness Jeh Wadia will now take over from Ness Wadia as the managing director of Bombay Dyeing while Ness Wadia will be the managing director of Bombay Burmah Trading Company.

Will there be room for hotels? “We will go into hotels in a big way,” Wadia told Hotelier India on the sidelines of a recent press conference. He isn’t willing to talk brands or specify locations just yet.

Jeh Will continue to head GoAir in addition to being in charge of the Wadia family’s real estate assets (amounting to nine million sq ft) in Worli and Dadar. The reasoning is said to be that Jeh Wadia was actually the one who diversified the Wadia Group into newer segments such as aviation and real estate. His new role is to take the Wadia Group’s real estate business to a new heights.

In the meanwhile, under Jeh Wadia’s stewardship, GoAir has recently put down USD 7.2billion to purchase 72 A 320 NEO aircraft.
