Macao Government Tourism Office partners with Massive Restaurants to showcase Macanese cuisine

To welcome the Chinese Year of the Yellow Dog, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) held a gastronomic evening with its Culinary Partner, Pa Pa Ya. This modern Asian bistro and tapas bar showcased curated Chinese New Year menu between 16th to 18th February.

Macao has been given the status of UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy and the Macanese cuisine is a fusion of Eastern and Western influence. This designation provides MGTO an array of opportunities to promote the country’s food culture and develop a sustainable tourism industry.

Commenting on the occasion Arzan Khambatta, head of Macao Government Tourism Office in India, said, “Macanese cuisine is a blend of Chinese and Portuguese cooking styles, which showcases the country’s incredible culture. The designation of UNESCO creative city of gastronomy portrays Macao’s culinary strength and we aim to promote and popularise our food culture here in India.”

MGTO is partnering with Pa Pa Ya to present Macao as the Creative City of Gastronomy in India. In this year-long, Pa Pa Ya will add a few dishes from the Macanese cuisine to its regular menu.

Commenting on the occasion, Zorawar Kalra, founder and MD, Massive Restaurants said, “One of Pa Pa Ya’s mission is to bring pan-Asian cuisine on a global scale. Through the association with MGTO, we will be the first to introduce this creative global gastronomic cuisine in the Indian market. Keeping the authentic and diverse Macanese food culture in mind, we plan to serve Macanese cuisine with a twist and with our unparalleled services and practices.”
